Bio

Colleen Reichrath-Smith

I am a career consultant, coach, and animated group facilitator whose focus is to assist people to make personally meaningful career choices. I am passionate about helping people make career choices based on their values, personality, strengths, and interests (not just what’s hot in the labour market) for a satisfying and rewarding future.

With a background and training in career development, recreation therapy and human development, I enjoy helping people create their preferred future, taking work, learning, and leisure options into account in mapping their career journey. A recent development in my career journey has been an international move from Canada to the Netherlands, learning a new language and accessing a new labour market. Through applying the career development principles I teach, within two years of this move I was facilitating career development training in Dutch as a freelance consultant.

I am a member of NOLOC, the association of career professionals in the Netherlands, and in 2009 I became a certified NLP practitioner.

In my leisure life, I am an outdoor enthusiast, musician, and traveller.

Opportunities are usually disguised as hard work, so most people don’t recognize them.
